The design of the Soviet Canteen has evolved over the years with changes to the materials, capacity, and canteen covers. The canteen designs are identified by their material and date that they started development.

Variants[]

Aluminum canteen Mod.1927[]

Manufactured by the Moscow factory Metallamp. Has a capacity of 0.75 liters. Made of aluminum with a cork stopper. Produced from 1926 to 1929.[1]

Aluminum canteen Mod.1929[]

Manufactured by the Moscow factory Metallamp. Has a capacity of 1 liter. Made of aluminum with a rubber stopper. Produced from 1929 to 1931.[1]

Aluminum canteen Mod.1932[]

Manufactured by the Red Vyborzhets. Produced in both 0.75 and 1-liter capacity. Made of aluminum with a 5 thread screw cap. Produced from 1937 to 1941.[1]

Glass canteen Mod.1932[]

Manufactured by Urshelsky Glassworks and Konstantinovsky Mechanized Bottling Plant. Produced in both 0.75 and 1-liter capacity. Made of various colored glass with a rubber stopper.[1]

Aluminum "Post War" canteen[]

Manufactured by the Red Vyborzhets. Produced in 0.75 capacity. Made of aluminum with a 3 thread screw cap. Produced starting in 1948.[1]
