The RD-54 Airborne Assault Backpack is a series of backpacks of Russian origin.
Overview[]
The RD-54 Airborne Assault Backpack was designed specifically for use by Soviet airborne troops. It has a main compartment measuring 27cm x 22cm x 10cm and two side compartments measuring 27cm x 8cm x 10cm.[2] Each RD-54 also came with a double AK-74 magazine pouch and grenade pouch. These pouches were often removed and used for other purposes such as the construction of a First Pattern Lifchik. Each compartment on the RD-54 has two grommet holes and sown in straps which are used to attach gear to the outside of the backpack.
