Overview[]

The only known example of the Parker-Maxim M1929 Silencer is exhibited at the National Army Museum. It is attached to an M1908 Webley & Scott .32 inch self-loading pistol with NAM accession number of "NAM. 1996-08-226-1". This exhibit provides its designation as "Parker-Maxim M1929 Silencer", from which it can be deducted that it was a joint production between Parker-Hale and Maxim Silent Firearms CO. and was introduced in 1929. The M1908 Webley with Parker-Maxim M1929 silencer configuration was used by the secret agents of the Special Operations Executive operating behind enemy lines during World War II.
