The Mockba Athletic Shoe is an Athletic Shoe of Soviet origin.[2][3][4][5][6]

Overview[]

Created for the Soviet Army sometime in the early 1980s. The name is derived from the Cryillic spelling of Moscow, Москва. It is nearly identical to the Adidas München with the only difference being the logo on the heel tab, the smooth-cut trefoil and upper (as opposed to the München's zig-zag pattern) and the presence of the word "SPORTS" in English on the side.

History[]

The Mockba Athletic Shoe was produced using a factory and equipment left over from a contract with Adidas after the 1980 Moscow Olympics. [1] The Mockba became popular with Soviet soldiers during the Soviet–Afghan War who found them to be more comfortable than the issued Sapogi or Margelovskie Boots.
