The M-1956 Load-Carrying Equipment is an individual load-carrying equipment of American origin.[3]

Overview[]

The M-1956 was designed to replace the older web gear systems in use during WW2. The pouches were held on by slide keepers, now referred to as ALICE Clips, which allowed them to be modular.

The M-1956 consists of 8 components. [4]
