The Jumpable Plate Carrier (JPC) is a tactical/ballistic vest of American origin. It may be equipped with most armoured plates or soft armour.

Overview[]

The Jumpable Plate Carrier was designed to be compact and lightweight. It features an integrated admin and magazine pouch on the front of the carrier. The cummerbund has a skeletal design which reduces the weight. However, side plates cannot be added without the addition of a side plate pouch set. The carrier comes in four different sizes for the different sizes of ballistic plates. Small; weighing 1.2lbs, Medium weighing 1.3lbs, Large weighing 1.4lbs, and Extra-Large weighing 1.5lbs (Weights are for the base vest without the addition of plates).[2]

Variants[]

JPC - This is the first known version of the JPC range and features a built-in three mag pouch sewn into the flap on the front of the kit. Another nice feature of the kit, is that it uses Hypalon for the shoulder straps. Hypalon is a robust and lightweight synthetic rubber material, that can stretch and flex without losing its rigidity. The plate carrier also features a Velcro system that attaches the front and back plate carriers and is held together by an elastic sleeve, that covers the Velcro. [3]

JPC 2.0 - This 2.0 version of the plate carrier has all of the same features, but with a lot more flexibility. On the front of the carrier, the significant change is that the front flap is optional and removable, in addition the 2.0 has a much better design for the shoulder straps. The JPC 2.0 has the same system as the first version, but instead of a slider it is a Velcro sleeve, and it also has a quick pull detachment system if needed. There are two significant changes on the back-plate carrier, a drag handle, and a zipper system. Having a built-in drag handle is an excellent option for casualty care. The zipper system allows the optional back panels to be zipped on or off. This is a much faster option than, again, spending the time weaving pouches in and out of a molle system. [4]
