The H.R.M. Tactical Vest commonly known as LAPD SWAT Vest is a body armor of American origin.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25]
Later in life it was phased out, as the threat level rose beyond the capability of soft armour, into the realm of hardplate.
Overview[]
The HRM Tactical Vest was a soft vest rated to NIJ 3A. It could successfully defeat most handguns in service at it's time, and for the day it was considered perfectly acceptable for SWAT operations.
The vest also included snap clips to attach patches, pouches, and other equipment the operative deemed necessary. Coverage wise, the armour protected almost all of the torso, and had some provisions for neck protection.
Early models of the vest also have the ability to accept ballistic plates. There is a flap in the back of the vest for a plate, and tucked away inside the inner front flap is a velcro strap which could wrap around a plate. The plate would then be secured by being tucked halfway into the inner flap. Later variants are modeled after the IBA, and can accept ballistic soft and plate inserts like any other standard IBA.

Second Chance "Command Jac"[]
The "LAPD SWAT" and Second Chance "Command Jac"[26] were similar, with the Velcro-zipper attachment system, only the zipper down the front is uncovered.
