Overview[]
The A4 cap also known as A4 Mechanics Wool Cap is a World War II period wool knit visorless cap and was intended for issue to US aircraft mechanics. These are often associated with US paratroopers who tended to "acquire" them from the Air Corps personnel and wear them in lieu of the jeep cap. Although officially an Air Corps item, in reality, it's certain that a few of these could have ended up on the heads of any troops in World War II.
